TikTok ads reward businesses that already think in short video, or are willing to start: ecommerce and DTC brands running TikTok Shop alongside their storefront, agencies managing creative-heavy campaigns for younger-skewing clients, and local businesses — restaurants, gyms, beauty and wellness — whose audience genuinely spends time in the app. It's a weaker fit for businesses with no video assets and no interest in making any; TikTok ads perform on creative variety more than most networks, and the platform's own delivery rewards frequent new content over one polished evergreen ad.
Live now
TikTok ads, built and reviewed before they ever go live
Campaigns, ad groups and audiences through TikTok's own Marketing API — paused for your review, then launched with attribution that traces every click back to a real ad. Spark Ads (boosting your own organic posts) is coming next.
Who this is for
What you can actually do here
Full campaign control through TikTok's Marketing API — not a reporting mirror.
- Campaigns, ad groups and ads, Basic or Advanced. Basic mode sets the right objective and bidding for your goal automatically, and applies TikTok's own targeting limits without you having to memorize them — notably, TikTok has no radius targeting and can't exclude locations, so the app is upfront about that limit instead of pretending it can be worked around. Advanced mode opens bid strategy, placements, custom audiences, lookalikes, frequency caps, bulk editing across clients, and a raw JSON view.
- TikTok Shop, live now. Run TikTok Shop ads against your product catalog from the same builder as every other TikTok ads campaign.
- Spark Ads, coming. Boosting your own organic posts as a paid Spark Ad — the creator pastes an authorization code, verified against TikTok's sandbox first — is planned for a later phase, not available at launch. This page will drop the "coming" label the day it ships.
- AI creative, made for the format. Generate short-form video concepts and copy in the creative studio, with real in-app previews before anything launches — TikTok ads live or die on whether the first two seconds work.
- Server-side conversions. TikTok Events API sends run alongside the on-page pixel with shared event IDs, so a conversion is never double-counted and iOS tracking limits don't blind your reporting.
- Built paused, reviewed, then launched. Every campaign goes through a pre-launch policy check and a client approval link before it spends a dollar.
How attribution actually works on TikTok
Every campaign carries TikTok's own dynamic parameters — __CAMPAIGN_ID__, __AID__, __CID__ — in the ad's URL, so the landing page knows exactly which campaign, ad group and ad sent the click. The Audience Vault stores those alongside TikTok's click identifier (ttclid) and carries them through to the lead, call or sale.
Credit only goes as deep as the evidence: an ad ID gets the exact ad; a campaign- or ad-group-only signal shows as "ad not known"; an unmapped click ID shows as "campaign not known." TikTok's own platform-reported conversions sit in a separate "claimed by platforms" band, never blended into your verified count, and anything with no ad touch at all shows as "Unattributed." A plain-English note explains why this total won't match TikTok's own dashboard exactly.
Costs and budget
There's no minimum required to run TikTok ads through Ads and Pixels — you set a daily or total budget, with a spend cap per client, and TikTok is one of the networks the app can auto-split budget across alongside Meta, Google, Microsoft and Snap. Bidding is automatic until a campaign has enough volume for manual caps to help rather than hurt. Current plan pricing is on /pricing.
Keeping creative fresh without starting over
TikTok ads slow down when the same creative runs too long — the platform's own delivery favors variety, and audiences scroll past anything that feels repeated. Ads and Pixels tracks creative fatigue per ad inside the Results Map (rising cost per result against flat or falling frequency is the tell) and the AI optimizer can flag it before spend gets wasted on a tired ad. Generating a new variant in the creative studio takes minutes, not a new production cycle, and it launches into the same ad group so historical learning isn't reset for no reason.
Frequently asked questions
Real answers before you make a decision.
Do I need existing TikTok content to run TikTok ads?
No, but it helps. The AI creative studio can generate short-form video concepts from a product description or existing brand assets, with real in-app previews before launch, so a brand-new TikTok presence isn't a blocker.
Can I boost an organic TikTok post as an ad?
Not yet — that's a Spark Ad, and it's coming in a later phase, not available today. Once it ships, you'll paste the creator's authorization code (verified against TikTok's sandbox first) and it'll run through the same campaign flow, attribution and reporting as any other TikTok ads campaign. Until then, TikTok Shop ads and standard campaigns are fully live.
Is Ads and Pixels affiliated with TikTok?
No. We connect through TikTok's public Marketing API as a developer app; we're not sponsored by, affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok Inc. or ByteDance. TikTok is a trademark of its respective owner.
Why can't I target a radius around an address for TikTok ads?
TikTok's own targeting doesn't support radius targeting or location exclusions — that's a platform limit, not an app limit, and Ads and Pixels is upfront about it in Basic mode rather than offering a workaround that doesn't exist.
Does TikTok Shop work through this integration?
Yes. TikTok Shop ads run against your product catalog through the same builder, campaign review and Results Map as every other TikTok ads campaign type.
How fast does TikTok approve the ads themselves?
Ad review timing is TikTok's own process and varies by account and content; Ads and Pixels can't change that, but the pre-launch policy check flags likely disapprovals before submission so fewer ads get rejected in the first place.
