A visitor scans a QR code or taps NFC on your screen and lands on a simple offer — "10% off today" or "join our list" — no app to download, no sign-up flow to build. It works the same way whether the venue is a gym, a church handing out an event link, or a restaurant running a straightforward discount. The screen doesn't need to know who's in the room — it just shows the code, and the visitor decides whether to scan it. This much is live on every screen, Host Free or Host Pro, the day you turn it on.
Coming
Wi-Fi signage and Wallet rewards are coming — QR check-in is live now
Every screen already carries a simple "scan for 10% off, join our list" QR or NFC offer, no app and no install. The fuller rewards program — phone-verified sign-in, points per visit, an Apple/Google Wallet card — and guest Wi-Fi signage sign-in are both next on the roadmap. Nothing here reads a phone without someone choosing to connect, live or coming.
What's live today: scan, and get an offer
What's coming: a full rewards program
The next stage adds real depth to that same QR code: the page it opens will verify a phone number by text, let a visitor join a proper rewards program, and track points per visit toward an offer they set the threshold for (10% off, a free item at ten visits, whatever the host wants). A Wallet card — Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — will get added to their phone so the offer is one tap away next time, not a forgotten punch card, and it'll redeem right at the point of sale. None of that is live yet; today's QR code is the "join our list" version, not the points-and-Wallet version.
Guest Wi-Fi, the honest version — also coming
Wi-Fi signage — a screen that also runs your guest network's login — is planned as one of the simplest add-ons on this page, and one of the most misunderstood, once it ships. The plan: if you offer free Wi-Fi, the login screen will double as an opt-in signup — a visitor trades an email or phone number for access, with a clear, plain-language explanation of what they're signing up for and why. No bundled fine print, no pre-checked boxes. It's designed to work with our router or a compatible one (UniFi, Meraki), with the same screen still showing your menu or promo content behind the login prompt.
Wi-Fi digital signage, once live, is meant to turn a cost you're probably already paying for — guest internet — into a source of opted-in contacts, instead of leaving it as a convenience nobody tracks. It won't be Wi-Fi advertising software in the sense of pushing ads onto someone's phone the moment they connect — it's designed as a one-time opt-in screen, not an ad delivery channel, with the visitor's actual browsing never touched.
Where the opt-ins will go
Once the fuller rewards program and Wi-Fi signage sign-in ship, every check-in, Wallet signup and Wi-Fi opt-in will land in your business's own Audience Vault — with the consent record attached — where you'll be able to send a rewards text, or retarget those same people with ads on Meta, Google or anywhere else you advertise. It's the same vault the rest of the platform already uses today, so a visitor who scanned your screen last week could show up in a retargeting campaign next week, without you building a separate list. Full detail on the vault, which is live now, is on Audience Vault & retargeting.
Built for restaurants, gyms and churches alike
Rewards check-in on digital signage for restaurants will usually mean a loyalty punch card moved onto a screen — join once, earn points every visit, redeem at the register — once the fuller program ships; today it's the simpler "join our list" QR offer. Digital signage for gyms is built to work the same way for visit streaks and referral offers. Digital signage software for churches skips the "rewards" framing entirely and uses the same QR mechanism for event check-in or a simple opt-in contact list today, since the goal there is connection, not a discount. One system, three very different uses, growing from a simple QR code into a full program over time.
Getting it running
QR and NFC check-in are included wherever the editor runs today — there's nothing extra to install, and no separate signup. Once the fuller rewards program ships, you'll configure it from your dashboard (points per visit, offer thresholds, redemption rules). Wi-Fi signage, once it ships, will take a bit more setup on the network side: point your existing guest Wi-Fi at our login page, or use a supported UniFi or Meraki router if you're starting fresh. Neither addition, once live, will require touching the screen's core menu or promo content.
What we don't do
- We do not passively scan for nearby phones over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to count or profile who walked by — modern phones randomize that signal specifically to prevent it, and the FTC has taken action against six location-data companies since 2024 for exactly this kind of tracking.
- We do not use cameras or face analysis anywhere on our screens or in our rewards flow, today or in anything we're building.
- Every single connection here — the QR offer live now, and the Wallet card and Wi-Fi login coming later — is something the visitor actively chooses to do.
Frequently asked questions
Real answers before you make a decision.
Do visitors need to download an app?
No, today or once the fuller program ships. QR and NFC check-in open a web page in their phone's browser — no app store, no install.
Is the rewards program with points and a Wallet card live yet?
Not yet. Today's QR code is a simple "10% off / join our list" offer. Phone verification, points and a Wallet card are coming in a later phase.
Is Wi-Fi signage available now?
Not yet — it's next on the roadmap after the fuller rewards program. Today's QR and NFC check-in works independently of your guest Wi-Fi.
How is this different from tracking nearby phones?
It isn't tracking at all, live or coming — nothing happens unless the visitor scans a code, taps NFC, or fills in a Wi-Fi login. We don't read or log any device signal passively.
Where do today's opt-ins get stored?
In your business's own Audience Vault, with the consent record attached, ready to use for rewards messages or retargeting ads.
Is any of this required to use a screen?
No — today's QR offer, and the rewards/Wi-Fi additions once they ship, are all optional. A screen works fine as a menu board or promo display with none of it turned on.
What will Wi-Fi signage cost once it's live?
It's planned as a Host Pro add-on — see Pricing for the current rate structure. Today's QR and NFC check-in has no separate charge; it's part of the editor.
Is this a Wi-Fi advertising platform I'll have to learn separately?
No — once it ships, it'll be a setting inside the same screen editor you already use for menus and promos, not a separate tool with its own login.
Will Wi-Fi signage require new hardware, or work with the same player?
The same player and editor — Wi-Fi signage is a setting layered on top of what you already have, not a separate screen or a separate account.
How is Wi-Fi signage different from a generic guest Wi-Fi splash page?
It runs on the same screen and dashboard as your menus and promos, and every opt-in lands in your Audience Vault automatically, instead of sitting in a separate router vendor's own portal.
Start with today's QR offer; Wi-Fi signage joins later, opt-in only.
Add a QR check-in to your screen now — the fuller rewards program and Wi-Fi signage join the same account at no extra setup once they ship.
