The same discipline that governs a search or social ad governs healthcare digital signage too — nothing sensitive leaves the practice's system either way. A pixel that fires on a page named "/services/oncology" or a form that submits a condition field tells the ad network something it should never receive, whether or not anyone meant it to. Health mode is the sensitive-category engine built for exactly this: it strips conditions and page paths that would reveal a medical or dental specialty or a specific service line before anything is sent to a network, rather than sending the full event and hoping the network's own filtering catches it. This runs by default for any account flagged as medical, dental or another sensitive healthcare category — not as an opt-in setting a practice has to remember to turn on.
Ads and Pixels / Healthcare & Dental
Healthcare digital signage and advertising, private by default
Run calls, bookings and leads for a medical or dental practice without sending a condition, a symptom, or a visited page path to any ad network — and if you run a TV in the waiting room, the same healthcare digital signage principle applies there too: no condition-specific content pushed to a screen full of patients who didn't ask for it.
A real limit, stated plainly: this is not a HIPAA guarantee
Health mode reduces what's sent to ad networks by design, and that's a meaningful step most ad tooling doesn't take at all. It is not a certification, and we don't call it one. Nothing here should be read as a guarantee of HIPAA compliance for your practice's advertising — that determination depends on your own systems, your business associate relationships, and how your practice as a whole handles protected health information, not on any one vendor's ad-tracking settings. Where a business associate agreement is needed for your situation, ask us directly; treat any claim about BAA availability elsewhere on this site as accurate only as of when it was published, since it can change.
Calls, bookings and leads still work — measured honestly
Health mode doesn't mean giving up measurement, it means measuring the outcome without exposing the reason for it. Calls, form leads and bookings are tracked and attributed the same honest way as any other campaign — clicked an ad and traced to the exact ad where the click evidence supports it, platform-reported only where it's a network's own claim, or verified with no ad touch captured — without a condition or a specific service page ever being part of what's sent. A practice can still see which ad produced a booked appointment; the network running that ad simply never learns what the appointment was for.
Radius and reach set the same way, minus the risk
Most of what a medical or dental practice needs from healthcare advertising is ordinary local reach — a radius around the practice, a city or a county — and that part works exactly like it does for any other local business: pick a radius, pick a goal, launch. What's different is underneath. Special-category detection applies automatically to a flagged healthcare account the same way it does for housing, jobs or credit categories elsewhere on the platform, so the account doesn't rely on someone remembering to configure a sensitive-category setting by hand before the first campaign goes live. A pre-launch check flags anything that would still expose a condition or a specialty before it ever reaches a network, not after a network's own review catches it.
Healthcare digital signage for the waiting room, and billboards outside it
A waiting-room TV is healthcare digital signage whether or not anyone calls it that — and it deserves the same care as a search or social ad. Our Local Screens product lets a practice run its own healthcare digital signage on a TV it already owns: appointment reminders, general wellness content, practice branding, never a condition-specific message pushed to a room full of patients who didn't choose to see it. A dental billboard or a medical billboard near the practice works the same way: track it as a manual channel with a tracked phone number and promo code, and the same Health-mode discipline that strips conditions from a digital event applies to how the campaign is measured, not just how it's targeted. Whether it's healthcare digital signage in the lobby or a dental billboard on the drive to work, the standard doesn't change by channel.
What we don't do
- We don't call Health mode a HIPAA guarantee, a certification, or a substitute for your own compliance program.
- We don't send a condition, symptom, diagnosis, or a page path that would reveal one to any ad network, by default, for a flagged healthcare account.
- We don't make a practice remember to turn this on — Health mode applies automatically once an account is categorized as medical, dental or another sensitive healthcare category.
- We don't push condition-specific messaging to healthcare digital signage in a shared waiting room, ever — general content only, same as any other public screen.
Frequently asked questions
Real answers before you make a decision.
Does Health mode mean HIPAA compliance?
No. Health mode strips conditions and page paths from what's sent to ad networks, which is a real reduction in exposure — but it is not a HIPAA certification or guarantee. Your practice's overall HIPAA compliance depends on more than ad-tracking settings.
Is a business associate agreement (BAA) available?
Ask us directly about your situation. Availability can change, and we'd rather give you a current, accurate answer than a general claim on this page that might be out of date by the time you read it.
How do you know which accounts need Health mode?
Accounts are categorized at setup based on the practice type — medical, dental and other sensitive healthcare categories are flagged automatically, and Health mode applies by default for those, not as something you have to find and enable yourself.
Can we still see which ad led to a booked appointment?
Yes — the booking itself is tracked and attributed like any other conversion. What's removed is any signal about what the appointment was for, not whether it happened or which ad led to it.
What networks does Health mode apply to?
All of them. Whichever networks a healthcare account runs on — Meta, Google, Microsoft, TikTok and others — the same stripped, condition-free data is what leaves our system for that account, not a subset. The same rule extends to healthcare digital signage on a practice's own screens, not just paid ad networks.
We're a dental practice, not a medical one — does this still apply?
Yes. Health mode covers dental and other sensitive healthcare categories the same way it covers medical practices, since a dental page path or procedure name carries the same kind of sensitivity.
Is healthcare advertising more expensive to run here than through a general ad tool?
No extra fee applies for Health mode — it's part of any plan for an account flagged as a sensitive healthcare category, not an add-on priced separately.
Can we run healthcare digital signage in our waiting room too?
Yes — that's the Local Screens product, priced separately on Pricing and covered in full on Local Screens. The same Health-mode discipline applies to healthcare digital signage as to any ad account: no condition-specific content pushed to a shared screen, general wellness and appointment content only.
Advertise for real bookings, not a condition profile — on ads and healthcare digital signage alike.
